My husband Dave and I have bred and exhibited standard longhaired Dachshunds, miniature longhaired Dachshunds, standard and miniature smooth haired Dachshunds, Whippets and Pomeranians, and Affenpinschers.  Two of our Dachshunds achieved ROMX status and one is an ROM. One of our most notable achievements was breeding the first Longhaired Dachshund to win the group at Westminster KC, Ch. Pramada’s Curmudgeon L.  Our Affenpinscher Trevor won his first major at the National with Dave handling and went on to become a multiple BIS winner. He earned Awards of Merit at 2 subsequent Nationals, at Westminster, and at 3 AKC Invitational shows. After finishing and campaigning Trevor, we bred him to our champion bitch, Tipper, and their second litter resulted in 6 puppies with 5 champions to date. We currently own four Affenpinschers.

I have been judging for approximately 18 years and am approved for all Hounds and Toys and 18 Terrier breeds. I have judged in multiple states, Canada and Australia. We have served as active members, officers and directors of both all breed and specialty clubs over the years. We chaired our Dachshund National Specialty and present seminars on the Dachshund when requested. Dave and I are both approved as mentor/presenters by the Dachshund Club of America. We are also currently members of the Scottsdale Dog Fanciers Association, Dachshund Club of America, Affenpinscher Club of America, Arizona Toy Dog Fanciers, and the Minneapolis Kennel Club.

My true passion with animals began with horses, originally training in England as a teen. I  had  great fortune to work for an “old school” farmer that  bred Steeple Chase running Thoroughbreds in Oxfordshire and  acquired my foundation of animal husbandry, structure & movement there. In the late 70’s, back in the USA, I spent  10 years Rodeoing in Texas, New Mexico & eventually my home state of Washington. Rodeo Queen for NWRA in 1979 & All Round Cowgirl in 1980.  Greg and I met at CWU & married after graduation in 1984.  Out sailing on Puget Sound, Greg & I  met a wonderful red & white spaniel on a neighboring sailboat. Completely smitten with the happy trusting temperament and beautiful expression, I  knew that a Cavalier was  somewhere in my future.  Three years later, 1994, bi-lateral hip replacements forced me to downsize from horses. Anxious to transition my experience to Cavaliers I began my search for the foundation dogs & mentors, for Covington, which consisted  primarily of Kindrum & Salador lines.  I joined the CKCSC-USA with the purchase of my first puppy  along with all regional affiliates, the ACKCSC and the English Cavalier Club. Greg & I  have since bred or owned 50 AKC Champions,  2 AKC ROMS  and 1 CKCSC-USA ROM along with  17 CKCSC-USA Champions (15 home bred,  including 2 National BIS,  2 Reserve National BIS and 2009’s Inaugural, National Members Club BIS).  Recovering from spinal fusion surgery this year, 2010, I am focusing on completing my Judging criteria for both the AKC & CKCSC-USA.  Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your show.
