Camie
Allegria's Picture Perfect
Camie passed her Canine Good Citizenship test on Thursday, August 31, 2006. CGC is an AKC certification program designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from AKC.

Some owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs, feeling that it lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. Before taking the Canine Good Citizen test, owners sign the Responsible Dog Owners Pledge agreeing to take care of their dog's health needs, safety, exercise, training and quality of life. Congratulations to Camie's owner Kathie Dapron of Kingman, Arizona!
Pepper, UD
Pepper, UD
Pepper, proudly owned by club member Gary Thorp, earned her "UD" (Utility Dog) title in Obedience on May 19, 2006 at the Durango club obedience trial in Cortez, Colorado. She earned First places in all three of her qualifying legs. By finishing all 3 Obedience titles in under 24 months she qualifies for Front and Finish's (the professional dog trainer's magazine) Obedience Gold Award.
The three levels of Obedience are Companion Dog, Companion Dog Excellent, and Utility Dog. To earn a UD title is quite an accomplishment, the participant must earn qualifying scores in three separate AKC obedience trials. To earn a qualifying score, the dog must pass the following exercises: Signal Exercise, Scent Discrimination, Directed Retrieve, Moving, Stand and Examination, and Directed Jumping. Pepper will now be working towards earning her "Utility Dog Excellent" title by completing the requirements for CDX and UD at ten trials! Congratulations, Pepper & Gary!
