What does the CKCSCCA do?  Our Club is an extremely active dog club!

The CKCSCCA holds a top-drawer AKC breed specialty show on an annual basis, provides support to the local dog fancy by hosting canine health clinics twice yearly, supports the breed entry at local all-breed shows, supports the National club (ACKCSC), donates to Cavalier health research and rescue (in 2010, we were able to donate $1,600 to rescue efforts, helping cavaliers who became homeless due to the economy and home foreclosures).  Our members have been quick to volunteer to assist in cavalier needs when necessary.

In addition, the Club provides a newsletter to its membership and hosts social, educational and competitive activities for Cavalier owners. Our 2010 calendar offered a variety of activities, including a Therapy Dog presentation, Spring Play Day & microchip clinic, Specialty Show, Dinner & Auction, "Putt, Paddle & Play" Swim Party, a "B" Match, a health presentation on SM by a canine neurologist, two Health Clinics, an All-Breed Structure Seminar, and a Pet Grooming presentation. Our Autumn Play Day & Elections and our Holiday Party will round out the year. The Club also hosted two cavalier obedience classes, with many participants earning their Canine Good Citizenship awards.  Each December, we recognize the achievements of our members whose dogs have earned an AKC title in agility, conformation or obedience, or a Canine Good Citizenship or Therapy Dog award.  This year our Club learned it has been selected to host the 2013 National Specialty Show for the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club. This is a great honor and will bring some of the nation’s most beautiful cavaliers together here in Arizona!
